SS100 IP buffer for alarms detection
The buffer SS100 is also available in a version enabled for alarms detection. This version allows, in addition to collecting data, even real-time analysis of data received on a serial or IP port, so as to identify specific error messages that you want to report via e-mail, SNMP traps or through SMS, using a dedicated SMS gateway service provided by Bi @ Work, accessible via the Internet.
Once configured, the device will monitor incoming data to detect any alarms alert signaling via email, SMS or SNMP trap.
You can define up to 10 different types of alarms and for each type you can define up to 10 patterns of recognition for each alarm type.
The types of alarm signaling is independent for each of the ten supported alarm types, so you can report a type of alarm for example, only by e-mail, while another type may be reported by email and/or SMS and/or SNMP traps .
You can link to the SS100 IP buffer various kinds of devices such as a PBX or other device that can signal its operating state through a serial connection or an IP socket.
For example, you can define as a message warning the string "ALARM 4". In the case where the system connected to the buffer generate a message where is present inside the string "ALARM 4", the SS100 will generate a signaling as configured.
When the alarm is notified by e-mail, the complete log message received by the SS100 buffer will be attached in order to analyze the log of recent messages also contain the alarm message.
If you want to send a SMS you can specify for each of the ten alarms up to 5 numbers of GSM, with international prefix (i.e. 34 for Spain) and the text of the SMS for each alarm type.
If you want to generate an SNMP trap will be sufficient to fill the parameters, including the IP address of the SNMP server and the text of the message transmitted along with the trap.
A particularly interesting aspect of this solution is its self-consistent: no need for additional platforms to install and configure in order to obtain an alarm signal. In fact it is sufficient to equip the devices you want to track with a SS100 properly enabled and configured to receive an e-mail, SMS or SNMP traps whenever you submit any of the issues that you want to track.
